Hockley County Jail Mugshots
The official Hockley County Jail Roster displays booking photos for many public entries. The inspected roster used image paths that indicated a front-facing booking-photo view, and some records used an ImageNotAvailable placeholder. No official side-view gallery, historical mugshot archive, separate most-wanted page, or recent-bookings PDF was found in the county sources reviewed. The photo is part of the jail roster record, so the search path is the same as a custody lookup.
Hockley County jail mugshots can appear in three roster views. The Current Inmates tab is best for people in custody now. The 24 Hours Arrests tab is useful for new bookings and may also show released entries. The Inmates by Arrest Date tab uses a date range and can show current and released records, plus a Court column. The official site does not state exactly how long a released person's booking photo remains visible in those views.
Find Hockley County Photos
Use the official roster before any other source. It is linked from the Hockley County Sheriff page and is the documented county channel for current and recent jail records. A missing photo does not mean the person is not in custody. It may mean the roster is using the ImageNotAvailable placeholder, the person has not been processed into a public image view, the record has dropped from that tab, or the photo is not released online.
- Open the Current Inmates tab to search people currently booked into Hockley County Jail.
- Enter the last name and optional first name, or leave both fields blank to browse the public list.
- Use 24 Hours Arrests for very recent bookings or recent release entries.
- Use Inmates by Arrest Date when the booking date is known, then set the calendar range and run Search Inmates.
- Read the booking photo or placeholder beside the name, status, arrest date, bond, and charge rows.
- If the photo is not online, call the jail and ask which public-information request channel should be used for a booking photo or booking sheet.
The jail phone is 806-894-9334. For a Levelland Police arrest record, the city publishes an LPD open records request page, which may be the right channel for police records even though county jail custody is shown on the Hockley roster.
Hockley County Mugshot Fields
A booking photo should be read with the rest of the roster entry. Hockley County entries include fields that help identify the booking event and the charge context. They also include redactions. The public view redacts residential address, and research did not find date of birth, booking number, housing pod, court date, release date, or internal classification in the inspected roster list.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking photo | A front-facing image when available, or an ImageNotAvailable placeholder. |
| Name | Uppercase last name, first name, and often middle name. |
| Status | Current or recent custody status, including CURRENTLY BOOKED or RELEASED on some views. |
| Sex, height, weight | Basic roster descriptors tied to the booking record. |
| Address | REDACTED in the public roster view. |
| Arrest date and agency | Date plus arresting agency on some tabs, such as sheriff, Levelland PD, or DPS labels. |
| Bond fields | Total Bond and per-charge Bond Amount when published, with values that can include NOT SET, DENIED, or REDACTED. |
| Charge table | Warrant number, counts, statute, description, M/F column, and court value on the arrest-date tab. |
For the full custody record fields and search steps, use Hockley County inmate records. Mugshot searches depend on those same roster fields.
Are Hockley Mugshots Public
Texas does not have one simple rule that says every booking photo must be posted online. Hockley County publishes many photos on the official roster, but online posting is different from public-record access. The Texas Public Information Act controls public access to government records, subject to exceptions. Law-enforcement exceptions, privacy limits, juvenile status, sealing, expunction, and local records practices can affect whether a booking photo is released or withheld.
Key Statutes:
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 gives the public a process to request records from Texas governmental bodies, subject to exceptions.
Texas Government Code Section 552.108(c) preserves access to basic information about an arrested person, an arrest, or a crime even when some law-enforcement material may be withheld.
Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 109 regulates certain private publishers of criminal-record information and removal-fee practices.
Government Code Section 552.108(c) is important because basic arrest information remains public in many law-enforcement contexts. It does not force Hockley County to keep every mugshot online forever, and it does not override valid sealing, expunction, juvenile, or privacy restrictions.
What Hockley Photos Show
The official roster photo is a booking image tied to a jail entry. It is not a court finding, sentence, or proof that the person was convicted. The roster publishes charge descriptions and bond fields beside the photo, but court records can later show amended, reduced, dismissed, indicted, or otherwise changed charges. That difference is why booking photos should be read with the court record when a case outcome matters.
What is and is not public: The public roster can show a booking photo, name, status, descriptors, arrest date, bond, warrant, statute, and charge text. It did not show full address, date of birth, housing pod, booking number, medical information, fingerprints, or internal classification in the inspected view.
If a booking photo is missing, use the jail phone or a Texas Public Information Act request. Do not use unofficial mugshot sites as the record source for Hockley County because the official roster, sheriff, clerk, court, and public-information channels are the traceable sources.
Request Hockley Booking Photo
Hockley County did not publish a dedicated mugshot request form or removal policy in the official pages reviewed. For a booking photo not visible online, call Hockley County Jail at 806-894-9334 and ask where to send a public-information request. The sheriff's office and jail address is 1310 Avenue H, Levelland, TX 79336. The sheriff main phone is 806-894-3126, and the jail fax is 806-894-3161.
A request should be specific. Include the person's full name, arrest date, arresting agency, roster warrant number or case-like number, charge description, and whether the request is for a booking photo, booking sheet, or broader arrest record. If the arrest was by Levelland Police, the city police open-records page may be the better channel for police reports while the county jail remains the custody source. For court-file outcomes tied to removal or correction, use the clerk and court record path.
Roster Photo Time Limits
The public research did not find an official Hockley County rule stating how long a mugshot stays online after release. The 24-hour and arrest-date views can show released entries, so some released records can remain visible for a time in those roster modes. The Current Inmates tab should not be treated as a complete historical booking archive because it is aimed at people currently booked into the jail.
| Roster View | Photo Use | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | Photo or placeholder for people presently listed in jail custody. | Current custody and bond checks. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Photo or placeholder for recent booking and release entries. | Fresh arrests and short-term release checks. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Photo or placeholder within a selected date range. | Known booking-date searches and court-column clues. |
| Historical archive | No separate official archive found. | Use public-information requests for older records. |
Because no official retention window was located, any deadline should be confirmed with the jail before relying on a photo remaining online.
Remove or Correct Mugshots
Hockley County official pages did not publish a specific mugshot removal form. If a case is dismissed, sealed, expunged, or corrected, the court order process comes first. Texas expunction procedure is governed by Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55. After a valid order exists, provide it to the agency or clerk that maintains the record and ask how the online roster or public record should be updated.
Commercial mugshot removal is a different issue from an official Hockley County jail record. Texas Business and Commerce Code Chapter 109 concerns certain private criminal-record publishers and removal-fee practices. It does not replace the court process for sealing or expunction, and it does not create a county roster deletion shortcut. For the case side of the issue, review Hockley County court records after arrest and confirm disposition with the clerk.
State Federal Booking Photos
Hockley County jail mugshots should not be confused with state or federal custody photos. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice uses a statewide offender search for people transferred to state prison after conviction and sentencing. No TDCJ prison unit was identified in Hockley County. A county booking photo does not automatically travel with a person into the public TDCJ locator.
The BOP inmate locator is for federal custody and does not publish a Hockley-style mugshot roster. ICE custody uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator System, which searches by A-number and country of birth or by biographical details. No ICE detention center was identified in Hockley County, but an immigration detainer can still affect release from the county jail. If a county roster entry suggests a hold or detainer, call the jail before assuming bond will lead to release.
Note: No official Hockley sheriff app or app-only mugshot gallery was found in the research.
